African Export-Import Bank (Afreximbank).

Project Description
The project entails the development of 200 MW reservoir-based hydropower. It is also expected to reduce greenhouse-gas emissions by about 108 000 t/y of CO2-equivalent, thereby helping the DRC meet its climate targets under the Paris Agreement and updated Nationally Determined Contributions.

Potential Job Creation
The initiative is expected to create more than 2 000 direct jobs and 952 potential indirect jobs, and the augmentation of fishing and other economic activities on the reservoir.
